Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird was chosen to generate a typographic publication as part of the 2022 ISTD Shaping the World brief for a third year university project. The final outcome was to delve into the importance of the chosen text in its ability to shape worldviews and impact individuals, from both its time of being published and to a contemporary context.

The final design resulted in a two part publication which focuses on three influential characters from the novel. Through the use of visual texture and grit, a shift in tone is established throughout the publication, to showcase the messages and themes of the novel and to communicate the significance of the text within the current day.
